Key findings

  1. PRISMA-guided search, January 2015 – March 2025; 1,440 patients (proximal 63.8%, distal 29.2%, dual 7.0%).
  2. No significant differences between placement strategies in volume or circumference reduction, satisfaction, or compression discontinuation (p > 0.30).
  3. Adjunct scar release was associated with greater satisfaction (p = 0.04).
  4. Earlier intervention (< 5 years from diagnosis) showed improved volume reduction, satisfaction and compression discontinuation.
